The Way to Shambhala: A Meditation Manual (Forthcoming)
The Way to Shambhala: A Meditation Manual
The Way to Shambhala is no ordinary book on meditation, as it alerts the reader to firstly ask what their intention in practising meditation is. It emphasises the importance of the heart as the basis to awakening harmlessness in thought, word and deed, and humility as the reason to develop oneself. This book shows that the ultimate purpose of meditation is to become the path, to awaken the practitioner to transcendent consciousness, leading to Shambhala. Shambhala is not merely a mystical far off place, it is a name given to the Kingdom of enlightened and ultimately loving beings who have ascended the pinnacle of human evolution, and who have transcended rebirth.
The author, Bodo Balsys details why right meditation and esoteric healing are virtually synonymous terms. He illustrates how the basis of right living and health are the prerequisites to developing the meditation mind and he explains the necessity for healing sickness on all levels.
This book clarifies distortions about the chakras and the awakening of kundalini, challenging certain beliefs and misconceptions around the development of personal power and psychic abilities and elucidates on the dangers of attempting to awaken energies prematurely. Practical visualisation techniques and suggested meditations are included. The path of Initiation and the methods of mastering the emotions and mind are also discussed. New and extensively detailed information regarding the structure of Hierarchy and the Ashrams is now given elaborating on the earlier published information in The Revelation vol II.
The Way to Shambhala is a meditation manual for serious students and elaborates in more esoteric detail some of the philosophy given in Bodo Balsys’ series; Unveiling the Esoteric in Buddhism. Through the extension of Eastern and Western esoteric concepts, this book intends to dissolve the barriers between these two great dispensations to reveal important esoteric truths and provide practical methods for enlightenment in a modern world.
