Jachin

A Hebrew term meaning “to establish”. One of the pillars of Solomon’s temple, the other one being called Boaz. They represent the right (Jachin) and left (Boaz) Nadis. See Yachin and Boaz. Also Jakin.

A yogic term relating to the respectful intonation of mantric sound.

A Jina is a victorious one. An epithet of the Buddha. More specifically it refers to the five Dhyāni Buddhas.

Jiva

Basic Life-force. It is the prana that has become assimilated by an entity and converted into his own life force, or pranic fluid, by the action of the Heart. It is that which distinguishes his pranic emanations from all others. In terms of consciousness it can be seen as one whose consciousness is separate, an individual. The Sutratma (or Life-line from the Monad) is anchored in the Heart centre, and it is this energy when mingled with basic prana that becomes Jiva.

Jivanmukta

One who has attained the highest state of realisation (mukta). A Nirvanee, or Adept, who can project the gain of that realisation through his body of vitality, which becomes his healing or compassionate Radiance. He has fused his consciousness with the One fundamental Source of all.

Jivatma

The one universal life, or Divine Spirit in Man. Also Jivatman.

Jnana

Transcendnetal Knowledge, Wisdom. See Gnana.

Jnanashakti

). The shakti or power of Divine Understanding. (The empowerment of things relating to Deity.)

Jupiter

(Jove) The Roman version of the Greek God Zeus, the son of Saturn, and the Father of the Gods, ruling at Mount Olympus. In Esoteric Astrology Jupiter refers to a sacred planet who governs the dissemination of the second Ray of Love-Wisdom.
